Foam in Construction and Insulation Applications
In construction, foam is the resilient component of a layered build-up rather than a load-bearing insulation material. Its most common and most defensible use is damping impact and footfall noise, either in a floating floor build or beneath a floor covering. Stopping airborne sound is a matter of mass and sealing, not of a foam layer alone.
Absorption and insulation are not the same thing
Sound absorption means reducing reverberation inside a room, and profiled acoustic panels are what do that. Sound insulation means stopping sound passing from one space to another, and it is largely a matter of mass, decoupling and sealing every gap.
Confusing the two ends in disappointment: a room gets panelled and the noise from next door is unchanged. YAYLA does not sell profiled acoustic panels; the plain foam sheet it supplies is the resilient component of a layered build.
